Every Frank Frost senior session includes a free family session. If the Fam wants to join in, we add a little extra time to the senior session and photograph everyone. We LOVE it when that happens.
And most of the time when it happens, the siblings of the senior are older. Okay, maybe not older than the senior, but way past the point of needing MY help to smile. Yes, I am present whenever little ones are around. The Littles are my favorite kind of people and so, while Frank is working with the adults, the children and I do our goofy thing. In fact, expressions on small children are SO important to us, that we will not schedule the appointment if I’m unable to assist. (Note: that only happens if I’m sick)
Theo’s senior session took place last month in downtown Albuquerque. His lovely family, including a brother and two little siblings, were on hand as well for their family portrait. I drove down to meet them all as Theo’s senior session was wrapping up. Theo and Frank arrived in Frank’s car while the family followed in theirs.
Everyone climbed out of their vehicles and while Frank was photographing a few more poses of Theo, I got to know the children. And because I’m me, I’m goofy from the get go. Someone told me once, “You’re like a real life cartoon character.”
In my mind, they meant Jessica Rabbit; in reality, it’s more like Spongebob.
But as we left the parking area to meet up with Frank, Theo’s little sister made a statement that secured her as one of my best friends.
She said to me, “I want to ride in your dad’s car.”
Now, it took me a minute. Did I hear that right? So, I asked her, “My dad’s car? Which car is that?”
And she pointed to Frank’s car.
aka: MY DAD.
Frank is my husband. We are six years apart in age.
I have never been happier.
