What has two thumbs and starts a business on April Fools Day? This guy.
Yes, many moons ago, on April 1st, I started my photography business. I remember signing that first lease and knowing with all certainty that this is what I would do the rest of my life. I was young and thought I knew a lot about what it takes to run a business-time showed me how much I had yet to learn. I’ve certainly made my fair share of mistakes along the way, but I’ve always believed in a dedication to your craft and a greater dedication to the people who trust you with their images.
But, I haven’t done it alone. Not by a longshot. Three years after starting my business, this young woman named Cheri walked into the studio and applied for a job. And then got so good at what she did, I couldn’t afford to pay her what she was worth, so I married her. 🙂 She asked me this morning if there was ever a time I doubted what I was doing; a time when I said, “What did I get myself into? Maybe I should change and do something else.” Without hesitation, I answered, “No. Never.” Because when I say, “I love what I do,” it’s not just a tag-line; it’s how I truly feel. I know you have a choice when you decide who to trust with your family, wedding, children and senior photos. It’s no small thing to us. And “us” includes the best staff on the planet-a team that works hard and is every bit as dedicated to giving you the best photography experience out there.
So to all of you who have allowed us to do what we love for many, many years…thank you. Thank you for your trust, your friendship and your smiles. You make walking through that studio door each morning a joy!
