Little Boys

When we’re young, time inches along. Events take forever to come about and the years pass by agonizingly slow.

The moment you have a child, though, time plays a cruel trick…it speeds up. It’s as though the world spins faster, causing the years to blend together. The toy trucks and swords your little boy used to play with give way to XBox’s and iPods. The little hand you used to hold now engulfs yours. And although he now exceeds your height, you can still feel the weight of him nestled in your arms. Trying to hold each moment in your heart is impossible.

I suppose that’s why we take pictures after all, isn’t it?

Happy Birthday, Drew. We are so proud to be your mom and dad.

We’re Baaaaack….

Have you ever noticed that the longer you put something off, the harder it is to do? Like, for instance, starting a diet, or cleaning your house…or re-starting a blog? Sheesh. I’m so embarrassed. The blog was to tie in with a new website (makes sense, right?) and when the website thing was delayed, well…just look at the date of the last entry. “Nuff said.

But, we’re back and starting 2008 with a renewed zeal. The new Frank Frost website should be up and running in about two weeks. We’re also happy to introduce a new site just for Seniors. When faced with showcasing our fabulous Seniors, it became clear that one website was not going to cut it. Not even close. So, based on our ongoing Senior theme, was created. Be sure to check it out!

Magic Man

I believe that although people say they want to learn the secret of a magic trick, deep down, they really don’t want to know; it’s much more fun to believe the impossible, to marvel at the unbelievable. And the better the magician, the easier it is to suspend belief and stand amazed, with your eyes and mouth wide open, asking, “How did you DO that?” Casey is that kind of magician.
Frank came home from the studio one evening and presented our son, Drew, with a bent and mangled table fork. Before we could question him as to the meaning of the twisted fork, Frank explained. “I photographed this Senior today, Casey, who bent this fork with his mind. It was amazing! He’s a magician at the Magic Juggler Shop in Nob Hill. I’ve never seen anything like it. This guy is incredible!”
We think Casey’s photographs are pretty incredible, too.

(Be sure to check out They are the nicest magicians you’ll ever meet and the shop is full of wonderful tricks for all stages of magic. Make reservations for their Friday night magic show. We took our children and everyone had a great time!)

Apples and Carrots and Corn, oh my!

99.9% of Frank’s photography centers around people. Now and then, though, he’s called upon to photograph that other tenth of a percent, as in the case of the following images created for the cover of New Mexico Business Journal. Those of you familiar with the publication know that most of the Journal’s covers showcase Frank’s images of NM business people, but for the upcoming edition, the publisher wanted something agriculture based. Frank decided the fabulous produce found at the weekend Grower’s Markets was the perfect solution.
I thought the colors were too beautiful not to share.

Look at those colors.

Downtown Attitude

Most people reveal who they are by what they choose to wear for their session. Seniors are no exception. Most choose jeans, t-shirts, and the like. That being said, when we see a high school senior in a dark gray suit and Ray Bans, we pay attention. Matthew, a 2007 Senior from Arizona, is a guy who knows exactly where he’s going in life. His goal is a degree and ensuing career in International Business, and graduating a year early, he’s well on his way.

Of course, if the world of male modeling comes a’knockin, I don’t think he’ll turn them away.
With his gorgeous girlfriend Joanna. Ahhh…it’s good to be king.
