A White Sands Sunrise: albuquerque photographer

I’m a sunset kind of guy. Not that I don’t relish a gorgeous sunrise, it’s that I’m usually not up to see it. I’m a night owl, so the thought of rising in the wee hours to witness the first rays of morning sun doesn’t do much for me.

Put me in White Sands, NM with a good friend and it’s completely different.

Cheri and I arrived yesterday for a weekend of photographing clients in that gorgeous sand, so when my friend, Malcolm, who lives in Alamogordo, suggested we enter the park early this morning and photograph the sunrise, I jumped at it. I think neither one of us realized that we “Spring Forward” during the night, making our 5am time feel like 4am, but it didn’t matter. The air was crisp, the sun was golden and a good time was had in that isolated swath of white beauty across the desert.

Now, excuse me…I’m taking a nap. 😉
